EMERGENCY AND ESCAPE ROUTES ACCORDING TO DIN EN 13637
The German Institute for Standardization (DIN) published the new European standard "DIN EN 13637 – Locks and Building Hardware – Electrically controlled escape door systems for doors in escape routes – Requirements and test methods" in German in December 2015.New for the German-speaking market are the options mentioned in EN 13637 to release electrically controlled escape door systems with a delay or to completely block the release. The delay t1 lasts up to 15 seconds, t2 up to 180 seconds. t2. Blocking the emergency button, e.g., overnight, may only be implemented if it is ensured that a person is available around the clock to unlock the electrical locking of the door at the central escape route control (CMC) or to activate the emergency switch.
